Why Custom GPTs
System Prompt Control
Write the system instructions once and every conversation with that GPT starts from those rules. Role, expertise, tone, and boundaries are locked in before the first message.
Public or Private
Flip a GPT to Public and it appears in the Explore section for other users to find and chat with. Useful for sharing specialist assistants with a team or community.
Plain-Language Setup
The entire configuration is text fields: name, description, instructions, and suggested starters. No API keys, no code, no deployment steps.
Separate Chat Histories
Each GPT keeps its own conversation log. Switch between a writing assistant and a code reviewer without the context from one bleeding into the other.

Frequently Asked Questions
A Custom GPT is a named AI assistant you configure with a system prompt. The system prompt defines the role, knowledge focus, tone, and rules that the AI follows in every conversation. Unlike a blank chat session, a Custom GPT opens already knowing its job.
Click "Create GPT", pick an emoji avatar, give it a name, and write the system instructions in the Instructions field. Optionally add conversation starters, then save. The GPT is ready to chat with right away, and you can edit any field later without losing existing chat history.
State the role and scope in the first sentence, then add firm rules on format, tone, and what to avoid. A prompt like "You are a senior Python developer. Explain concepts concisely. Always include runnable code examples. Do not suggest deprecated libraries." outperforms a vague one-liner. Specificity is the main lever.
Yes. Set visibility to Public when creating or editing, and the GPT appears in Explore Public GPTs. Anyone on the platform can find it and start a conversation. Public GPTs display a use count, so well-crafted assistants get naturally discovered.
Each GPT stores its own conversation thread separately. Reopen a GPT and the full exchange is there. Use the Clear button in the chat interface when you want to start a fresh session without deleting the GPT itself.
You can create up to 50 Custom GPTs per account. That is enough to maintain separate assistants for different clients, codebases, writing styles, or subject areas without them interfering with each other.
Responses are generated via OpenRouter, currently running Google Gemini 2.0 Flash. The model handles long, detailed system prompts well and maintains the configured persona reliably across multi-turn conversations.
Yes. The Explore Public GPTs section lists all GPTs other users have made public. Click Use to open a chat with it. Usage counts are tracked per GPT, which surfaces the most used ones higher in the list.
Both options are available from the GPT card. Edit opens the same form used to create it, so you can update the name, instructions, starters, or visibility. Delete removes the GPT and its history permanently. Updated instructions apply to all conversations from that point forward.
A standard chat session resets every time. Here, the system prompt is stored with the GPT and injected automatically at the start of every conversation. You never re-explain the context, the formatting rules, or the persona. The assistant opens knowing exactly what it is supposed to do.
