RTranslator
Free offline Android app for real-time two-way speech translation between two phones using on-device AI.
About
RTranslator is an open-source Android application that enables real-time spoken conversation between people who speak different languages, with all processing done locally on the device. In Conversation mode, two phones connect over Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and each speaker hears a translated version of what the other says, through earphones if preferred. A WalkieTalkie mode works on a single phone and auto-detects the language being spoken before translating aloud. Standard text translation is also available. The app uses Meta's NLLB model for translation and OpenAI's Whisper for speech recognition, both running entirely offline. It is completely free, open source, and ad-free, though it requires a device with at least 6 GB of RAM.
