Originally called OpenAI Translator and now known as NextAI Translator, this open-source tool runs as a browser extension or a standalone desktop application on Windows, macOS, and Linux. It goes beyond simple translation by offering three modes: translate selected text, polish the writing style, or generate a concise summary. Text-to-speech playback and screenshot translation are also built in, along with a vocabulary manager that can create memory aids. The tool connects to multiple LLM providers including OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, and MiniMax, so you supply your own API key and pay only for what you use. There is no separate subscription fee for the tool itself.
