Hugging Face is the central repository for the open-source machine learning community. It hosts hundreds of thousands of pre-trained models covering text, images, audio, and video, alongside datasets and Spaces where anyone can publish interactive demos built on those models. Developers use it to pull models directly into projects via the Transformers and Diffusers libraries, run serverless inference through provider integrations, or spin up dedicated endpoints for production workloads. The platform also supports collaboration with version control for models and datasets. The Hub is free to join, a Pro account costs $9 per month, and compute services are billed separately by usage.
