GauGAN2 is a generative AI model from NVIDIA Research that combines text-to-image synthesis, segmentation mapping, and inpainting in a single system. You type a phrase such as "mountain lake at sunset" and the model produces a photorealistic scene, which you can then refine by painting in elements like rocks, trees, or clouds with a smart brush. Style filters let you shift the lighting or apply a painting aesthetic to the output. The technology powers NVIDIA Canvas, a free desktop application for Windows that runs the model locally on RTX GPUs and supports over 20 real-world material types.
