Devika is an open-source agentic coding assistant inspired by Cognition's Devin. Given a natural language instruction, it breaks the task into a plan, browses the web to gather relevant documentation or examples, and then writes the code across however many files the project requires.
It supports multiple LLM backends including Claude 3, GPT-4, Gemini, and local models via Ollama, and provides a chat interface for guiding the agent during execution. Devika is free to self-host; you supply your own API keys for whichever model provider you use. It is aimed at developers who want an open, inspectable alternative to proprietary AI coding agents.
