Buzz is a desktop application for Windows, macOS, and Linux that transcribes and translates audio using OpenAI's Whisper model, entirely offline. It accepts audio and video files, YouTube links, and live microphone input, and exports results as TXT, SRT, or VTT files. Speaker identification and speech separation help with multi-person recordings or noisy audio. The app supports GPU acceleration via CUDA, Apple Silicon, and Vulkan for faster processing, and a watch-folder feature lets you automate batch transcription. A plugin system extends functionality with AI-generated summaries and other add-ons. Buzz is free and open source under the MIT license.
